2005-2006 TECC President's Corner

Leadership  I  President's Corner  I  Past Leadership

July 1, 2005

Hello Everyone!

The year is halfway over and what a successful one it has been so far!  Right now is an exciting time for Texas Exes Corpus Christi!  We are building upon past successes, growing as a chapter with new members, and are very optimistic for the future!  The sky is the limit!  It is my distinct honor to serve as Chairman and President of our chapter during such a great time.  I would personally like to thank our Past President Ronand Lowe for all of his hard work over the last year.  We wouldn't be where we are without his tireless effort and determination.  In addition, the entire Leadership has done a wonderful job of steering our chapter in the right direction.  Combined with the great participation from our members and volunteers, I am personally looking forward to where we go from here.

The first half of 2005 has been witness to some successful events for us, starting with our Annual Texas Independence Day Celebration held on our Great State's birthday, March 2nd.  The Awards Banquet was also a huge success.  Legendary Texas Women's Head Basketball Coach Jody Conradt was gracious enough to serve as keynote speaker for the event, and proved to be an excellent choice.  Our Senior Sendoff, this year combined with BEVO at the Beach was also a success.  This year we gave out a record number of scholarships to local students.  To everyone involved in all of the above mentioned successes, thank you very much!  It couldn't have been done without each and every person's contribution.

I'm also excited about the second half of the year!  We are looking forward to reorganizing our monthly Thirsty Thursdays, discussing future gatherings, and of course ... football season is right around the corner!!!  We hope to have record numbers at our football Game Watches cheerin' our 'Horns to a National Championship!  This year's annual UT/A&M Hoot-N-Holler & Hex Rally with the Nueces County A&M Club should be just as much fun as the previous five years J !  It will be a great rest-of-the-Summer and Fall.

I would personally like to extend an invitation to any and all who would like to attend our events and support The University of Texas to please come out and do so.  We welcome all Texas graduates, former students, as well as friends and fans of The University to be a part of our organization.  There are a lot of us out there and the more the merrier!

Thank you again to everyone who has a hand in shaping the Texas Exes Corpus Christi into what it is today.  All future success can be attributed to your past hard work and efforts.  I look forward to working with everyone in the coming year.  Here's to a great Summer, a better Fall, and a wonderful start to 2006!

Warmest Regards and Hook 'em Horns!
