The Corpus Christi Texas
Exes, local chapter of the Ex-Students' Association of
The University of
Texas at Austin, went live with their new website on July 1st, 2005.
The
web address for the alumni chapter is appropriately located at www.cctexasexes.org.
The
web launch is part of a recent effort by the Corpus Christi Texas Exes to
increase member participation, as well as keep members informed with the
most up-to-date information about all that is going on with the local
chapter, as well as with The University of Texas at Austin itself.
"The
idea was to take what we currently had online to the next level. We
wanted to create not only a place where members can go to look up
information about our chapter, but also a more interactive environment
where people can post messages, chat with other Texas
Exes, provide us
with feedback, shop for Longhorn items, discuss topics, where new members
can submit their information, etc.." said Michael Carrizales,
Chairman and President of the Corpus Christi Texas
Exes.
In
addition to keeping members informed and in touch with one another, the
website will also focus on one of the priorities paramount to the Exes,
providing scholarships to deserving students from the Corpus Christi area
to attend The University of Texas at
Austin.
"Providing
scholarships to local students is very important to us. We hope that
the website's success will help us to provide more money for local
students to attend Texas." added
Ron Lowe, VP - Scholarships and Past President.
The Exes recently
awarded four scholarships to area students, and hope to increase that
total next year.
