Texas Exes Kick Off New Season and Celebrate a New
School Year

The
University of Texas at Austin Ex-Students
Association, the Texas
Exes, hosted its 2nd Annual Football
Kickoff Classic on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Paradise
Pool & Billiards in Corpus Christi,
TX. The Kickoff Classic is a nationwide event, and 2005 marked the
first year for the event in Corpus Christi.
This
year's event also served as a Sendoff
to local students who will be incoming Freshman during the Fall 2006
semester.
Kimberly M. Perez,
Senior Sendoff Chairwoman, introduced Ronald E. Lowe, Vice
President - Scholarship, who addressed the group of alumni, incoming
freshman, and parents. Mr. Lowe also introduced each student in attendance,
provided each with University
of Texas gifts, and announced Paradise Pool
& Billiards as the Texas
Longhorns Corpus Christi Game
Watch Headquarters for the upcoming 2006 football season.
The
night also featured a viewing of the 2006 National Championship Rose Bowl
Game in which the Texas
Longhorns won their 4th National Championship by defeating
two-time defending National Champion University of Southern California
Trojans. 41-38.
