visit to Corpus Christi

The University of
Texas President, William C. Powers, Jr., was host and keynote
speaker of The University of Texas Presidential Reception on August 24 at
the Corpus Christi Town Club. The reception marked Dr. Powers' first
trip to Corpus Christi as The University's newly appointed President.
The
event kicked off with cocktails and was followed by a dinner.
Richard
B. Eason, University of Texas Vice President for Development,
introduced President Powers, who addressed the distinguished group of
alumni and University supporters on the state of The University, public
education in the state of Texas, and the importance of representing The
University of Texas with honor and integrity.
J.
Michael Carrizales, Texas Exes Chairman and President; Ronald E.
Lowe, Texas Exes Vice President of Scholarship; and Elizabeth L.
Reining, Texas Exes Vice President of Fellowship, were all in
attendance to welcome alumni and University supporters.
The
reception honored members of the Littlefield Society, President's
Associates, Texas Leadership Society, the Texas Exes, and other special
guests.
