The Texas Exes of Corpus Christi sponsored a tailgate party before the Longhorns-Islanders baseball game Tuesday at Whataburger Field, featuring an appearance by the Texas mascot, BEVO XIV.

Chase Leshin (top right), a member of The University of Texas student group Silver Spurs, watches over the 1,900-pound, 5-year-old steer during the festivities.

Inside the stadium, the crowd of 7,002 tended toward the Longhorns with a sea of Burnt Orange (bottom right) behind the UT dugout.

On the diamond, the 12th-ranked Longhorns scored in all but one inning to hand the Islanders their sixth loss of the season.

This game marked the Longhorns baseball team's first trip to South Texas.
